Old Business
Bill White, a former EMT, discussed preparations in the event of a player needs emergency care. Suggested that we discuss response delays with the county officials, and the necessity to respond with lights and sirens. It was reported that the latest emergency call took 30 minutes. It was suggested that SSSA provide additional medical equipment along with defibrillators. Suggested were a manual battery operated BP cup, a stethoscope and a SPOZ (heart beat monitor). Motion failed due to potential liability.
It was also suggested that each player keep a sealed, confidential red envelope containing a Vial of Life form. It contains pertinent health info. This would distributed by the managers and players would keep it in their bat bags. It would assist in a medical emergency. A motion was made to approve this. Motion was voted on and approved.
3. Insurance Indemnification- Cost (rate for a Non- profit organization like SSSA) was provided to cover up to$1million dollars for misuse of funds, and frivolous lawsuits. Discussion to continue and vote to be taken at September 9th meeting
