Treasurers Report:  There is a positive balance.  One player has yet to pay his fee. Sarasota Ford is onboard as a sponsor for the Winter season.

Online Suggestion Box:  Frank Lyons reports the suggestion box is on the website.  Members are encouraged to use the online version.

Shirt Sales:  Ken reports no shirts have been sold.  He is anticipating sales once the snow birds arrive for the Winter season.

Winter Season:  The Friday Gold 1 league will move to Wednesday.  George Wacaser has received no negative feedback from Gold 1 players.  This would allow Gold players the opportunity to play three times in a week.  Silver leagues will not have any “4” rated players.

Equipment:  Bob D’Angelo reports all screens have been repaired (3). The vendor has been paid $77 in total. George reports screen #5 now has a broken leg and is in need of repair.  Screen #5 is not usable and is located under the lower left shelf in the shed.

Veer Rule:  Mike Mahan stated that players who “give themself up” expect to be safe when the fielder makes an error at the base.   He pointed out the player must be close to the base for this to occur.  George stated the rule’s intent is for safety. He also stated the rule covers all situations.  Ken also added that this is an umpire’s judgment call.  Members are encouraged to read the rule to avoid any conflicts.

League Coordinators Report:  Wednesday Gold player Bob Fritz, has “no showed” two times.  His position on the red team has been replaced.  Bob will be eligible as a call-up player.  He remains a member of the Monday Gold League.  Ken will make the notification.

Four Year Review of New Players:  George presented the following:  2018 – 19 there were 29 players with 34, 68 and 80 in the next three seasons for a total of 211.  The ratings are 1=4%, 2=9%, 3=17%, 4=20%, 5=20%, 6=19%, 7=6% and 8=3%.  One new member had a “9” rating and another had a “10” rating.  Members should contact George for more information.

Element 3Health Plan:     Ken stated this plan had the potential for making money for the Association.  However, UHC is the only participating Health Carrier at this time.  After further discussion, it was agreed the plan would be re-visited once other health carriers participate.

Game Balls:     A motion was carried that the home team would provide only one new ball to be used for both games.  This is due to a shortage of new balls.  This could be changed once new balls are received.  This one new ball policy will be reviewed as a permanent procedure in the future.

Fees:  Winter and 2023 Summer registration fees will be $100 for two or more leagues.  $60 is the registration fee for one league.

The increase is to cover the cost of Paypal and credit card fees.  Two/thirds of members pay via Paypal.  Checks are also accepted.

Budget:  Ken presented the budget for the next fiscal year.  Discussions centered around field rental fees, manager’s appreciation dinner and pizza days.  Ken will finalize the budget for approval at the next meeting.

Other:  The Winter season will start on October 31.  The next meeting is scheduled for July 13 at 1pm held at the Fruitville Library Conference Room.
